Stress

Stress is a feeling of emotional or physical tension. It can come from any event or thought that makes you feel frustrated, angry, or nervous. Stress is your body's reaction to a challenge or demand. In short bursts, stress can be positive, such as when it helps you avoid danger or meet a deadline.

Life Purpose

Your life purpose consists of the central motivating aims of your life—the reasons you get up in the morning. Purpose can guide life decisions, influence behavior, shape goals, offer a sense of direction, and create meaning. For some people, purpose is connected to vocation—meaningful, satisfying work. For others, their purpose lies in their responsibilities to their family or friends. Others seek meaning through spirituality or religious beliefs. Some people may find their purpose clearly expressed in all these aspects of life.

Mindset

Mindset is an "established set of attitudes, especially regarded as typical of a particular group's social or cultural values; the outlook, philosophy, or values of a person; (now also more generally) frame of mind, attitude, disposition. A mindset may also arise from a person's world view or philosophy of life. A firmly established mindset could create a powerful incentive to adopt or accept prior behaviors, choices, or tools, sometimes referred to as cognitive inertia, or "groupthink." Within these phenomena, it is often difficult to counteract its effects upon analysis and decision making processes.

Career Development

Career Development or Career Development Planning refers to the process an individual may undergo to evolve their occupational status. It is the process of making decisions for long term learning, to align personal needs of physical or psychological fulfillment with career advancement opportunities. Career Development can also refer to the total encompassment of an individual's work-related experiences, leading up to the occupational role they may hold within an organization.

Burnout

Common signs of burnout: Feeling tired or drained most of the time. The lines between work and home life have become increasingly blurred. Many of us are working longer hours, have been looking after children during the working day, and for many, our means of social interaction and social environments have changed. Common signs of burnout: Feeling tired or drained most of the time Feeling helpless, trapped and/or defeated Feeling detached/alone in the world Having a cynical/negative outlook Self-doubt Procrastinating and taking longer to get things done leads to feeling overwhelmed.

One of the most important things a startup can do is make sure that they are keeping track of their data. In my sessions, I take time to discuss the different metrics that startups—and established businesses—should be tracking. Tracking metrics and making sure you know what’s going on with your business is crucial; it enables you to determine if your assumptions about your business are correct, if your financial and marketing strategies are working, and ultimately allows you to make the best decisions possible for your business.

What is coaching?

Coaching is process where a coach partners with a client in a thought provoking and creative process that inspires them to maximize their personal and professional potential. Ok that was a bit formal, to simplify it, coaching is when you have a coach guide you through conversation that helps you identify what challenges you want to focus on and the coach helps guide you towards finding answers. The important thing to note is that the coach will not tell you the answers or find the answers for you. What the coach does is guide you through a "thought provoking" process where you discover the answers yourself.

What topics can I bring to a coaching session?

You can bring just about any topic to your coaching session, depending on the purpose or the goal of your coaching. what is always important before committing to a coaching program or session is to thing about what is your goal for the coaching, what do you want to get out of it? The key question to ask yourself is "If the coaching session is successful what outcomes will it have?"

How long is the coaching session?

A coaching session can be as long as you and the coach agreed depending on what you are addressing. The normal coaching session range between an hour to an hour and half.

Can anyone be coached?

Yes anyone can be coached, what is important is for the person to be "ready to be coached." That means being willing to open up, be vulnerable and prepared to discuss the challenge you want to address. Sometime you might not be ready to talk about a situation and that is ok. That is why its important to ask yourself how ready are you to tackle the issues that you want to tackle in a coaching session

What do I need to look for when choosing a coach?

The important consideration when choosing a coach is chemistry, it is always advisable to have a "chemistry session" with a coach before making any commitments. In the chemistry session, you want to check if you are able to connect with the coach. You also want to learn more about the coach, their experience, their coaching approach and style, what you can expect from him/ her. So these are some of the questions you can ask in the initial chemistry session.
